It isn't fair. Why do they always get taken? Why isn't there anything we can do to stop this? I hate this place. ...But I know I can't leave. There isn't anywhere for me to go back to. Living here is cruel and I can't even tell them.

I dunno. Probably a war and someone wanted ta' get rid of unsavory things in the past. Stuff like that happens sometimes, though not for a whole century.

[Least not where he's from, but since she's posed the question, Heisuke tries to think of a reason. Why would an entire century just disappear? And a history written in pictures? Oh! OH HE'S GOT IT!]

I miss the sea. I thought I would never see it again. And then when I did, I thought I would never leave it and then I came here. What I had was already taken.

Guess so. Can't imagine goin' a lot of places. I didn't travel too much 'cept for work. I guess I can see how you'd get kinda stir-crazy bein' stuck here.

I enjoy traveling. You should try it sometime. There are some interesting places even here.

Saw her, yeah, and even talked to her but a bit, but I ain't seen her eat anyone yet. Said she doesn't like the taste, but that she does it sometimes.
